More About Plaquemine

The city of Plaquemine, Louisiana is located within the Iberville parish. Is known to be part of the Baton Rouge metropolis in the statistical area. In 2010 the population was 7119 people but has since decreased to 6269 people as of 2020. The town can be located in the central part of the state and the north eastern side of the parish. Early inhabitants of the area are thought to be of the Chitimacha people. The town was settled by incoming residents in 1775. Due to its location up along the Mississippi river the village soon began to prosper and grow which has grown into the size that it has become today. It was incorporated into the state as a city in 1838 though it was first inhabited by settlers in 1775.

A United Fire & Water professional inspected the bathroom and found a water leak in the wall from the tub/shower. After some minor demolition, they also found black mold behind the tub. UF&W performed mold remediation on the bathroom, all non-salvageable materials were removed. All remaining structures were treated with an anti-microbial solution and HEPA vacuumed to prevent future mold growth.

Wood flooring in closet needs removal; Vanity in hallway bathroom needs removal; Setup 2 DH & 2 VeloPro AS for stabilization until demo is completed. Removed affected baseboards, insulation, and moldy drywall in both bathrooms; Removed vanity in hallway bathroom; Removed engineered wood flooring in master closet; HEPA vacuumed and mopped all flooring in affected areas; Treated and cleaned exposed studs with antimicrobial; Setup 2 additional dual-axial fans.

A team from United Fire & Water extracted water from seven rooms in the clinic. They removed wall barriers from affected walls and found mold in one of the exam rooms. The team set up containment around the mold with an air scrubber to remove mold spores from the air. The team also set drying equipment throughout the rest of the building to dry the remaining structures. After taking moisture readings and an additional air mover and scrubber were placed. Dehumidifiers were also set to reduce the air's moisture and assist with drying the remaining structures.
