Our Slidell Water Damage Restoration Process

Every water loss is different. The appropriate restoration process depends on the source of the water, affected materials, extent of damage, contamination level and actual moisture conditions inside the property.

Emergency Response

We gather information about the loss, affected areas, source of the water and immediate property concerns.

Inspection & Moisture Detection

Professional moisture-detection equipment helps identify affected materials and determine where water has traveled.

Extraction & Structural Drying

Excess water is removed and professional drying and dehumidification equipment is installed when appropriate.

Monitoring & Repairs

Moisture conditions are monitored until drying goals are reached. Repairs can follow when damaged materials require replacement.

Real Water Damage Restoration Experience in Slidell

United Fire & Water has performed residential water damage restoration in Slidell involving hidden plumbing leaks and moisture affecting multiple rooms and building materials.

Washing-Machine Supply-Line Water Damage

On a Slidell residential project, a washing-machine supply line leaked behind the wall and affected the laundry-room drywall and vinyl flooring, an adjacent half bathroom and laminate flooring in the living area.

Professional dehumidification and air-moving equipment were installed to stabilize moisture conditions while damaged materials were evaluated.

Materials that could not be salvaged were selectively removed, while remaining structural materials were cleaned and treated.

This type of hidden plumbing loss demonstrates why visible water damage may represent only part of the affected area.

United Fire & Water performed an initial assessment and identified a supply line to the washing machine leaked behind the wall, saturating the laundry room drywall and vinyl flooring, the adjacent half bathroom drywall and vinyl flooring, and the laminate plank flooring in the living room. UF&W set 1 dehumidifier and 2 axials for stabilization. The plumbers shut the water off to the residence until they could fix the leak. While reducing the moisture levels in the air, minor demolition was performed to remove unsalvageable materials. All remaining structures were treated with an antimicrobial solution and HEPA vacuumed.
