Solutions provided:
Our team began mitigation by removing saturated carpet padding from both bedrooms, approximately 25% of the flooring, as well as the entire closet in one bedroom. Carpet was tented to promote airflow and successfully dried. We installed three dehumidifiers and ten air movers throughout the condo to control moisture levels and accelerate drying. Baseboards were removed in all affected areas to expose hidden moisture and support proper structural drying.
During inspection, visible microbial growth was discovered beneath hallway baseboards. These areas were treated, and small sections of drywall were cut to address growth found on the backside of the walls. Additional holes were drilled beneath kitchen cabinets, with air movers placed to dry trapped moisture. Moisture readings were taken throughout the property, showing some areas drying quickly while others remained saturated. This detailed water damage restoration project in Baton Rouge, LA highlights United Fire and Water Damage’s commitment to thorough, reliable service across the Greater Baton Rouge area.
