Job completed for Cypress Hemp- water damage, flood damage

Completion date: January 22, 2024

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Why did the customer contact us?

A commercial property in Baton Rouge, LA experienced water damage after a pipe burst behind a wall, affecting both the hallway and back office areas. The leak caused water to spread into the carpet and wall systems, leaving materials saturated and requiring immediate mitigation. Upon arrival, our team documented the damage with photos, moisture readings, infrared imaging, and a full Docusketch scan to assess the extent of the affected areas.

Solutions provided:

In the hallway, we began by extracting water from the carpet and removing the wooden shoe molding to expose trapped moisture. The carpet was treated with an antimicrobial solution, and air movers were placed to begin the drying process. In the back office, the situation was more extensive due to an active leak inside the wall. While the plumber worked to repair the broken waterline, we removed sections of wet sheetrock, baseboards, and shoe molding to allow access and prevent further damage. After repairs were completed, we continued extraction and set up drying equipment, including a dehumidifier and air scrubber, to stabilize the environment. During the follow-up visit, moisture readings confirmed that the affected areas in both the hallway and back office had successfully dried. All equipment, including fans, dehumidifier, and air scrubber, was removed. The team completed a final HEPA vacuuming, applied antimicrobial treatment, and documented the completed work with updated photos and Docusketch. This project highlights the importance of coordinated efforts between trades and proper drying techniques to fully restore a commercial space after water damage.
