Job completed for Jackson-pipe burst, water damage
Completion date: January 23, 2024
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Why did the customer contact us?
A residential property in Baton Rouge, LA experienced significant water damage after a pipe burst in the garage, allowing water to spread into adjacent areas. The moisture affected the garage structure as well as a nearby room, impacting sheetrock walls, ceilings, and shelving materials where water was still present. Immediate action was necessary to prevent further damage and reduce the risk of mold growth.
Solutions provided:
Our team began the mitigation process by performing a full demolition of all wet and affected materials in the garage. This included removing damaged sheetrock from the ceiling and walls, as well as cutting a 1' x 15' section of sheetrock behind the washer and dryer to access hidden moisture. Once demolition was complete, we conducted a thorough HEPA vacuuming of the area, followed by cleaning and disinfecting with an antimicrobial solution to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. After cleanup, we set up professional drying equipment and took detailed moisture readings to monitor the drying process. Additional documentation, including Docusketch scans and photos, was completed to track progress and support the restoration process. The team scheduled a follow-up visit the next day to reassess moisture levels and ensure the structure was drying properly, continuing the path toward full restoration.
