Job completed for Jackson- pipe burst

Completion date: February 1, 2024

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner experienced a pipe burst in the garage that caused water damage to the garage ceiling, walls, and the adjacent room. Water also migrated into shelving materials, creating additional moisture concerns. United Fire & Water responded to this residential water damage loss in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to begin immediate mitigation and prevent further structural damage.

Solutions provided:

Our team began demolition in the garage by removing all wet and affected sheetrock from the ceiling and walls. We also cut approximately 1' x 15' of sheetrock behind the washer and dryer to access and eliminate trapped moisture. A HEPA vacuum was used to clean the work area, and all affected surfaces were disinfected with an antimicrobial treatment to reduce contamination risks. Professional drying equipment was installed, moisture readings were taken, and hydro equipment was added to assist with the drying process. Post-demolition documentation was completed using Docusketch along with detailed photos to support the restoration process. United Fire & Water scheduled a follow-up visit to monitor drying progress and ensure the structure reaches proper moisture levels before moving to repairs. Water Damage Restoration – Pipe Burst, Baton Rouge, LA (Residential).
