We had extensive damage to the back wall of our two-story home caused by Formosan termites. I got three estimates on the repair. I chose United despite their estimate being, by a small margin, the highest. United's Beau Shamburger spent more time than the people who gave me estimates put together and considered places the termites might have gotten into that the others never mentioned. He even came back with others later that day and the next with others to get their opinions on the damage. I was concerned that a quick estimate would lead to more damage being found entailing more expense. I felt that Beau had the best grasp of the situation.
The next part was the worst part, waiting two months for engineering and architect reports while having only a plastic sheet keeping some of the intense summer heat out. Once work began, it went on continuously until finished. Adam Godso, who oversaw our project, kept us informed as to what was going on and what would be coming up next and was very responsive to any concerns that we had. April Stanford, in the office, also sent on the engineer and architect reports as she received them and other info as needed. There were some slight problems (for instance, a scaffold part was dropped on the optic fiber internet connection knocking our internet out for a few days) so if this were a 10-point scale I would give United a 9. Being conservative, I would normally truncate a 4.5 rating to a 4 but I have heard of such horror stories concerning projects of this kind that I am going to make it a 5. So nice to have a complete house again and better built and better looking than before!

The whole staff was extremely professional and timely with all communication and requests. A special thank you to Mr. Kevin Givens and team for treating my home with care. No worries when I wasn’t able to be home.

Beau helped us through the entire process of mitigation and repairs after an upstairs leak caused ceiling and floor damage. Very responsive, thorough and professional.

This review might show up with a handle I use on Google .. but my name is Mike Guidry and what follows is my review of United Fire & Water.
I had a water line going to my dishwasher burst while I was napping in my recliner … I woke up to find +/- ¾” of water throughout my house .. I knew where the shutoff water valve was and so I was able to stop any additional water coming in.
I contacted my daughter and son-in-law and we worked for 3-4 hours vacuuming up water with my shop vac and removing area rugs … this happened around midnight so it was quite eye opening.
I contacted my State Farm agent (Stan Douglas) in the morning and he said he would contact a company to come out and begin the process of remediation (that company was United Fire & Water) … Kevin Hussey showed up not long after and advised me of the process that would be required to remediate the damage.
Kevin had a crew activated within a short period of time and before I knew it I had 20 or so fans and dehumidifiers located throughout the house and readings for moisture content and mold were taken daily .. the dry out process took about 10 days and required the removal of baseboards throughout the house. I should mention the Kevin handled contacting a plumbing service that they us to come out and repair the water line to the dishwasher.
After the removal of the area rugs and a closer inspection of the floor (stained concrete) it was determined the entire floor needed to be cleaned/stripped and a fresh coat of sealer/wax needed to be applied. I wanted UFW to handle the whole job .. I didn’t want to deal with sub contractors … I had UFW remove my furniture and store it while the flooring repairs were being handled .. and the flooring repairs and coating were applied to perfection .. I’m sorry but I don’t remember the ladies name that performed the work.
I couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of the work … professionalism and knowledge of ALL of the people that worked on my house .. I do want to give a pat on the back to Kevin (not Hussey) who performed the majority of the remediation work .. taking readings etc .. he was a joy to be around very friendly and explained everything regarding the work being done. I also want to thank Kyle Guilbault, Kevin Hussey, Beau Shamburger and Lee Comeaux for coordinating all the activities needed to allow the job to proceed in a timely manner … AND a BIG shout out to April for keeping me informed of what was going on and what was needed from insurance and mortgage … and that is a whole other story!!
UFW met and exceeded all of my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend UFW to ALL my friends and anyone else requiring their services.

My experience with United Fire & Water was very easy and pleasant! I hired them to repair the ceiling in my downstairs bedroom. The damage occurred as a result of a leaking toilet in my upstairs bathroom. They came out on the same day that I reported the damage and got the ball rolling right away! The entire staff was amazing and very efficient throughout the entire process, especially April Stafford who was always just a phone call away and very willing to assist me in every aspect. I highly recommend this company and would not think twice about who to call the next time I am in need of repairs due to water damage, or any other damage for that matter. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

I called United Fire and Water Monday afternoon with concerns of excessive moisture, and possible microbial growth in my air ducts. Louis showed up 9 AM sharp Tuesday morning as promised with instrumentation and a plethora of knowledge putting me and my wife’s minds at ease. Next morning first am consulting how much you ask.? $0! Free inspection! In times when everyone else is so quick to pass the buck it was hitting the lottery working with Louis. I can’t recommend these guys enough and will definitely call with any future needs. Thanks again!

We’d awakened to water flooding our home. We’re an old, handicapped couple whose only option was to get a plumber to turn off the water to our house, find the leak, and stop further damage. (FYI: State Farm will not pay for this, but only pays for damages.) Water was everywhere: The plumbers recommended United Fire & Water Damage of Louisiana LLC.
In a flood-situation, as I know from experience, the first thing is to take out everything that’s wet and get the place dried out. Dinking around means mold. United Fire & Water Damage of Louisiana LLC came out immediately. Disgusted with State Farm and knowing that our home would be ruined if we waited for State Farm to act, we personally guaranteed payment for the cost of getting the place dry. Owner Kevin Hussey took us at our word and his company’s work began.
By the end of the day, all the wet stuff had been removed by Kevin Givens and his team mate. Soon the floors had been mopped with pet-and people-safe disinfectant, fans and dehumidifiers were running, and we knew our home would be saved.
United Fire & Water Damage knew what they were doing and did it right.
We presented some serious, unusual problems: Not only are we old, handicapped, and vulnerable (with doctor’s orders to avoid public areas because we simply cannot handle infections, etc.), but we also have a protective, 180+ English mastiff service dog. We were afraid to try to go to a hotel. United Fire & Water Damage owner Kevin Hussey said his teams could handle our staying in our home: And they did!
Team after team came in: Each one with specific jobs to do, each one was careful, kind and very professional. If it’s possible to take a lemon and make lemonade, Mr. Hussey and his teams did.
We are truly in awe of the work that was done. We are better off than we were before the flood: Our home is clean and fresh. Since the flooring could not be matched, we have new floors. The baseboards are all clean and repainted. The walls that had to be opened to find the leak are repaired and freshly painted. United Fire & Water Damage completely restored our home and put it back together again.
All of this was accomplished quickly and perfectly.
Building and real estate have always been part of my life, so I know from experience what it takes. This floor installation is the best I have ever seen. Leroy Mayorga, who was on-site manager and overseer, told me that his team could install the floor seamlessly without the breaks in the old floor. Yes! They did it! I am amazed and delighted!
Adding to the smooth, easy, work schedule, Beau Shamburger oversaw everything happening at our house and made certain everyone had what was needed and did what was necessary to be done. From office worker April Stanford to Randi Hutchinson, who came, took pictures and coordinated with Conner Lloyd of ProSource of Baton Rouge to find flooring choices that were appropriate, in-stock and readily available, everyone worked together to make the entire experience a success. We are truly grateful.
If something bad happens, we know to call United Fire & Water Damage.

This is my second time using this company to help with water remediation. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. They work fast and make the process easy!!! They kept me informed the entire time. I highly recommend this company. From start to finish, they made the process smooth and hassle free. Wouldn’t trust my home with anyone else!

House was flooded on a Saturday morning mid February united Fire and Water came to the house as soon as they could begin to get the water out.first day they were here till 8pm took a week to dry out and keep bacteria and mold away all through process they took pictures and recorded damages to help with insurance claim after that they restored the house. I appreciate this company moving so quickly to come out and give a free inspection the next morning! Jeremy was awesome! He used high tech gadgets to see through my cabinets and walls to determine if my plumbing leak had caused mold growth, as well as determining if I still have wetness inside the walls that could lead to mold. It took him about 10 minutes to put my mind at ease and let me know that I have nothing to worry about! I can now carry on without stressing over the possibility of water damage. Had I not gotten this free and simple inspection, I would have continued to have that fear in the back of my mind. Your house is one of your biggest investments! So protect it!
