Job completed for Joe A.- water damage baton rouge
Completion date: July 15, 2026
Location: Walker, LA
Why did the customer contact us?
United Fire & Water responded to a homeowner in Baton Rouge, LA who experienced a water leak caused by a broken valve during a plumbing repair on their water heater. The water heater was located in the attic, and the leak resulted in saturation of the ceiling drywall and surrounding structural materials. Water had also migrated downward, affecting walls in the living room below and raising concerns of potential mold growth and structural damage.
Solutions provided:
Upon arrival, our Baton Rouge water damage restoration team conducted a full assessment of the damage. We found that both the attic insulation and the ceiling drywall above the living room had absorbed a significant amount of moisture. To begin mitigation, we removed 54 square feet of wet blown-in insulation from the attic to access the saturated materials and prevent further contamination or deterioration.
To stabilize the environment and dry out the affected areas, United Fire & Water installed XPOWER axial air movers in the attic, strategically positioned to target the ceiling drywall and reduce excess humidity in the attic space. This approach allowed for effective drying of the structure while minimizing disruption to the homeowner. This Baton Rouge, LA water damage project is a prime example of our thorough, policyholder-first approach to emergency restoration.
