Why did the customer contact us?

The homeowner called with concerns about a leak from a hot water line running underneath the master bedroom, vanity and closet. They had noticed it about 3 weeks prior and stated it was dry now but had visible mold.

Solutions provided:

A United Fire & Water professional went to the house and identified a significant amount of drywall and flooring needed to be removed. This included flooring (carpet, padding, and tack strips) and baseboards in the master bathroom and master closet. They also removed the bottom 2 feet of affected drywall through the rooms. They set up a containment area in the master bathroom entry with a zipper, using an air scrubber to create negative pressure and remove particulates and mold spores from the air. Following demolition, the HEPA vacuum was used throughout the entire area. All materials were dried and mold mitigation processes were used.
