Completion date: November 16, 2022

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Why did the customer contact us?

The owner of a rental property called with a possible air conditioner leak causing water damage to bedroom sheetrock and carpet.

Solutions provided:

A United Fire & Water technician nt to the home and found the leak coming from the HVAC drain line that didn’t have a drip pan and drained onto drywall. The water seeped into bedrooms on adjacent sides of the HVAC system and the closet in the master bedroom behind the system on the adjacent side of the wall. The leak has been ongoing and there was severe microbial growth inside the HVAC closet. The affected drywall, carpet, and baseboards were removed from the home and disposed of. All remaining structures were HEPA vacuumed and an anti-microbial solution was applied to mitigate future mold growth.
